How do I keep my files the same across all devices?

If you have multiple devices (multiple computers, mobile devices, tablets, etc.), then you have probably faced the problem of trying to sync files across your devices.  For example, you might use a desktop to work during the day at the office, and then work at nights or over the weekends using a laptop, or even your smart phone, at home.  But how do you work on a single, up-to-date document on all of these devices?  How do you synchronize files between all of your computers and devices?

Using a service that allows you to back up your files online can help you make sure your files are synced across all devices.  Programs that work well for file syncing are:

Dropbox – the free online service that allows you to sync files between all of your PCs and other devices, including your mobile phone or tablet. When you install and configure Dropbox on your PC, it will create a special “Dropbox” folder that can be synchronized to the cloud and across all of your devices.  You can then add your favorite files, folders, or videos to this Dropbox folder to make them accessible from any of your devices or on the web.

SugarSync – SugarSync gives you 5 GB of free storage space to backup, share and access your files anywhere.  When you make a change or add files, SugarSync automatically updates these changes so they are the same on all of your computers and devices.

Microsoft SkyDrive – Microsoft’s storage program gives you 7 GB of free online storage to back up your most important files and access them anywhere, at any time.  Once SkyDrive is installed on your PC, the program’s fetch function allows you to access all of the files on your PC from any computer in the world.

How Soluto can help you sync your files across devices

Soluto allows you to install and configure Dropbox on all your devices, which in turn allows you to synchronize files across all devices. Using Soluto, you can create new Dropbox accounts, remotely download and install Dropbox, and sign in from anywhere.

After Dropbox is installed on your PC, all you need to do is install the Dropbox app on your mobile device.  The contents of the Dropbox folder will then be synchronized on all of your PCs or mobile devices, anywhere, anytime. Plus, your stuff will be safe because it’s backed up to the cloud.
